To come together with the local people, and moreover to create awareness for sustainability and also cultural exchange projects, a Sports Bonanza was arranged.
The football game between two local teams was the highlight of the event.
Before the game started, we used the great opportunity to get in contact with the local people and to discuss a topic that concerns everyone.
Therefore, our volunteers presented a little stage play in light of the past World Environment Day at the 5th of June, which broached the serious issue of environmental pollution and the unnecessary use of plastic.
Also Rashid Alambule, a politician of the local government, gave us the honor and jointed the Sports Bonanza Event.
Both teams went home as winners since the game resulted in a drawn result (1:1). Eventhough this means that no one received the prize - a goat - it was a great and fun day for all of us! Uvikiuta believes that creating contact between different people and cultures through activities like this is a nice way of exchange to achieve understanding.
