CHILDHOOD CARE CENTERS
This social and educational program is focusing on the children in the age of two years to six years. This particular age of a child is considered the most vulnerable and crucial stage of a person's life. Based on this fact and the consequential needs, Uvikiuta has been collaborating with days care centers to ensure that children receive a good quality education and gain the skills and knowledge they need to thrive achieve promising future. Child care centers is a project which focuses on guiding children to learn through play and other creative methods in a safe and dependable environment.

KID'S SAFER PLACES
In every country Tanzania included there are unfortunately many children who have been abandoned to their own luck, orphans, born in homes with no love, abused, or suffer poverty and sickness. These children need a loving heart, attention, education and friends who can help them find a better life full of opportunities, be successful and most important have happiness life. Uvikiuta organizes this project with children’s home in Chamazi with the goal to increase the overall wellbeing of the children in the community.

REMEDIAL EDUCATION
Remedial education also known as developmental education, basic skills education, compensatory education, preparatory education, and academic upgrading is a project intended to assist slow learner students in the community in order to achieve expected competencies in core academic skills such as literacy and numeracy. This program is complementary to the formal education provided by community schools and focuses on ordinary level secondary students (13-18 years old). Relationships will be created with a student's regular classroom teacher to determine what kind of help a student needs.
MATHS & SCIENCE PROJECT
In an educational environment, mathematics and science subjects has been often referred to be a bridge of success or failure for high school graduation and career. But the performance of pupils seating for national examinations at least sciences subjects has been not good over the years in various community schools. Some of the factors which has been underlined to contribute to this situation includes; lack of interest among the students, inadequate number of teachers, teaching aide/facilities etc. Mathematics and science project is an initiative aiming to respond to some of outlined challenges in cooperation with local community schools, education centers and other education stakeholders hence contribute to better results among the students for their better future.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHER
The position and role of foreign languages and it importance has been recognized worldwide. Especially, English and French are widespread and considered as crucial in Tanzania. In recognition of this reality, UVIKIUTA Youth Center has developed an English Language and a French Language program with the aim of providing a free learning opportunity to economically disadvantaged members of the community to enable them to access various business, education and employment opportunities. Delivering lessons to community classes, testing and grading students and finding creative approaches to encourage learners are the main tasks of the participating volunteers.

VOLUNTARY SERVICE MANAGEMENT
Voluntary service is a unique cross-cultural experience program that connects people from around the world with local communities in Tanzania built on our belief that volunteers and local communities have a vital role to play in development and in building a more just and sustainable world community. The project is mainly aiming to increased quality, visibility and accessibility of volunteers from Tanzania and around the world by promoting UVIKIUTA, recruiting volunteers, and co-leading international workcamps. Moreover, it provides the unique opportunities to experience different cultures, take part in peace making and hands-on on various community development projects.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP & SPORTS
Youth leadership and sports is an initiative by UVIKIUTA Youth center to offer opportunity to the young people in the community to exercising authority over themselves or others. It is the project targeting youth development in which young people gain skills and knowledge necessary to lead civic engagement, education reform and community organizing activities by acting as a leader for the other volunteers. The program primary focuses on coordinating sports activities, workshops, and other cross-cultural events, including e.g. music and arts, for the youth people of the local community.
MEDIA & COMMUNICATION
The Media and Communication team are the volunteers behind the scene. They are responsible to develop and maintain professional networks and relationships with partners and volunteers. They are also in charge of digital activities like updating the website and social media posts, and to generate attention through press releases, public awareness campaigns, and other promoting activities. In this way we educate, inform and support people interested in volunteering and create a wider range of awareness.

CULTURAL EXPOSURE
In Tanzania, as well around the world many people still barely meet anyone outside of a small circle of family, friends and community while even more never venture beyond the culture in which they were raised. This project is aiming to serve as an important means of introducing people around the world to realities they might not normally be exposed to, it encourage people to understand distinct cultures and play a key role in creating productive dialogue across the world. Volunteers have the chance to experience the daily life of community members, including work, social aspects like health care and cultural rituals, learning Kiswahili and optional teaching a foreign language to further cultural exchange.
ARTS & DESIGN FOR LIVELIHOOD
Obtaining a livelihood has been a struggle for a good number of people especially in urban settlements in Tanzania due to the high rate of unemployment. Arts and Design for Livelihood is project that aims to support local small business initiatives that specialize in a variety of different products such as tailoring, decorative items, drawing, mat woven, food etc. The small business owners are in need of support to improve the extension of their product range, and how the products are marketed at a social enterprise. Therefore, the project mainly focuses on training regarding new techniques, generating ideas, and the development of business plans and marketing strategies.
SUSTAINABLE LIVING
Sustainable living is a hot topic. Many people may have heard about sustainable living and are not sure exactly what it means. Lack of knowledge and exposure has significantly increase lifestyles that cause more environmental damage for future generations to deal with. The Eco Village initiative is a community designed to address challenges to attain sustainable development. Activities of the project include management of tree nursery, the herbal and medicinal garden, the vegetable garden and the free-range chickens, and moreover, organizing educational activities on sustainable living.

NATURE CONSERVATION
Nature conservation is a project focusing to the human actions directed towards maintaining the integrity and balance of the ecosystems and biodiversity. It is a fact that human actions may only be enabled after a general awareness is raised about the ecological impact of human activities. The concept of nature conservation is built on a reasoned management of resources. Therefore, this project deals e.g. with the conservation and planting of trees and plants, recording and documenting tree species and animals, and furthermore the organization of educational actions that will allow community members to deal with environmental issues.
WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT
Women’s empowerment project has been created with the aim to educate and provide training for women who socially and economically struggle and those who come from who come from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families. The project offers as well practical training in business development, and other kind of training needed to add value to the business plans. This includes supporting women to obtain skills regarding entrepreneurship, like small business management, tailoring, designing, micro finance etc., foreign language classes, knowledge concerning social media and IT-use for economic empowerment, and also personality development and female health awareness program.
CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Kids and teens with Cerebral Palsy, which is caused by brain damage before or during a child’s birth, or during the first few years of life, may have learning disabilities, visual impairments, hearing, speech or behaviour problems. Therefore, these kids need special care and integration to education and the social life. The volunteers join the teachers and local staff in taking care, playing and educating the children, giving aid during meal times, and helping them e.g. to make speech exercises using special available equipment. In this way the project helps to recognize the reality of these kids, and master it together with them by providing the necessary support.
